I know bribery isn't the best motivator for learning, but it does help keep the classes more manageable when I can just bribe the kids with candy. Sure, it means they're sugared up for the rest of their classes, but at least they're behaving in mine!

I've a feeling this is going to be a very good year. The summer was quite nice, but I am so glad to be back to teaching now. I do hope my students feel the same.

Animagi Club fellows, I can't wait to meet with you. I've been doing some interesting research in the field over the summer and have some new insights for you.

It's been a while since I've spent any long amount of time as a horse. Interesting.

I had lunch with a couple of my sisters over the weekend. They'd been hinting for quite a while now about wanting invited over to the new place, so I had them over. They approve, but now are hinting that it would be a great place to shunt some of the nieces and nephews off to for a few days here and there over the summer, now that I "finally have a decent place". They've always been welcome, and I do have to admit, the new place does have much more room than the old one, though I did like the old one, it was cozy.

My classes should be happy. Today will be the last day of new material, the rest of the year will be review and test prep.

It's odd to think of the school year as so close to over. I'm not sure what I'll do with all that free time. I suppose I'll have to find a hobby.

I keep getting my students commenting on how happy I've been. And they're right. I am. Busy, but happy.

I started making a list of repairs we'll need to make to the new place, repairs and updates. We'll have a bit to do, but it'll be fun.

Sorry about having to cancel Animagus Club at the last minute, I had some moving to do. I do hope you're keeping up with your studies and practices.

It seems odd to say that I actually had a very fun Christmas. It is all thanks to Adrian, of course. I'm realizing that I haven't made the obligatory formal announcement in here until now, so I guess this is it. I am dating Adrian Cain. Very happily dating him. He came to Christmas with me and it was a very fun time. Somehow, my family didn't scare him off. He seemed to take them as some sort of challenge and dealt with them very well. Though there was much too much embarrassing wedding teasing directed toward me, I must say. But it was good times. I'm looking forward to a very nice New Year's celebration with him, then I suppose we'll have to start thinking about classes again.

Remember, my classes, bring your unwanted items to class this week for the start of our Transfiguring Garbage into Gifts lessons, just in time for the Holidays!

I had an idea just before the start of term, but I haven't had the chance to implement it until now. Several of you students have great interest in Transfiguration and some have taken it a step further and are interested in animagi magic. I am proposing an Animagi Club. Time is to be determined, right now I'm just finding out who is interested. I'd like to see anyone who is an animagi participate. We can share tips, show off abilities, and learn new things together. I will also help with registration if anyone needs. If you are interested, please write back, hex it visible to only me. Thank you.

It's strange. The playful, flirtatious things that Emerson writes to everyone. Yet he manages to make me feel special somehow. It's like he's another Dan. I don't want him to be another Dan. Though I suppose he isn't. Dan is one of a kind.

It's been surprisingly n ice being back here. not to say I didn't miss the place, but I did hardly give it a thought for the past month. Now I'm giving it a lot of thought, or giving my classes a lot of thought, that is! I'm doing the younger years Transfiguration lessons this year, am looking forward to all their questions and natural curiosities and inquisitive minds!

I am back and already there are so many demands on my time. I have meetings at the Ministry a few times this week, as well as several school meetings and other things as well.

It was an excellent trip, I could have stayed away for much longer. I have gifts for all the staff, except the new ones. I apologize for that, I didn't realize our staff would be growing so much over the summer.
